Butch Walker returns to Minneapolis on May 7th!

BUTCH IS BACK!

I'm ecstatic that he added more dates to his solo tour.  Well, I only really care that he added a Minneapolis date in there, and it's at the Fine Line, which is perfect.  I've seen him there before (April of 2007 with Rocket and The Honorary Title), so I can't wait to see him again.  This is either my 7th or 8th time seeing him life.  I've lost count and have to check my ticket stubs to jog my memory.

Anyway, if you haven't checked out his newest album, I Liked It Better When You Had No Heart, click the image below to preview it on iTunes.  Then buy it and support Butch Walker!

The most fun you'll have in 23 degree weather...

Well, I made it home, and I'm nearly thawed out.

I spent my Saturday with my friend Sarah at the Get Lucky 7k race in Minneapolis on the Stone Arch Bridge.  Well, the starting and finish line was on the Stone Arch Bridge, and I only watched the event to support her.

What a wonderful event, even if it was only 23 degrees when the race began.  I dressed for the weather, but though the sun was shining and I was wearing my jacket and gloves, I was still too cold.  But I can't complain.  At least I wasn't playing the bagpipes and wearing a kilt like the guy below.  Check out the pictures to see just how many people actually ran in the event!

In all seriousness though, it really was motivating to see Sarah and so many other people complete the event on a chilly Saturday morning.  It makes me excited for my first event, which I hope to take part in sometime this spring or summer.  My knee is still holding up, but I'm having to space my workouts even more, especially on days where I work long hours and it stars aching.  Still, I haven't given up at least, unlike past years where I would already have given up by now.

Anyway, it was a great event put on my Kieran's Irish Pub in Minneapolis, as well as Team Ortho.  Hopefully I'll be running in the event next year!

Quote Of The Day

This has to be my favorite quote so far!

A man said to the universe:
"Sir, I exist!"
"However," replied the universe,
"That fact has not created in me a sense of obligation."

Minnesota's first "heat wave" of 2010

A friend of mine wore shorts and flip flops to the grocery store today.

It was 37 degrees.

This denotes a "heat wave" in February.

Quotes Of The Day

"Rock a mile in my shoes, then tell me what tune you hear."
(Lonn Friend)

"I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living, It's a way of looking at life through the wrong end of a telescope. Which is what I do, And that enables you to laugh at life's realities."

You betcha she's running!

Palin says 2012 presidential bid a possibility

Please, no.  Anything but this.  No no no no no.  Don't let this happen.

Every potential candidate always plays it mum this point in the process.  Nobody is going to announce their candidacy over two years before the election, but it's not a good sign for those who aren't supporters of Sarah Palin.  I'm Libertarian, but I lean "right".  Regardless, there's no doubt in my mind that I would be forced to vote "against Sarah Palin" instead of "for a candidate" of my choice if she happens to be the Republican nominee.  Polls show that she's the "most popular" candidate this early on in the process, but I hope that other more worthy (and qualified) candidates step up soon.
