Julien-K Interview & Music As A Weapon 4 Tour!

I just finished an interview with the band Julien-K, which is a side project of Ryan Shuck and Amir Derakh of the band Orgy. It'll be going up on TheyWillRockYou.com. Hopefully that should be up sooner than the Mindless Self Indulgence interview, which has taken longer. I was a huge fan of Orgy, and still am. For whatever reason, I never listened to Julien-K until this interview, but I was blown away and am really loving their debut album "Death To Analog" (link goes to the album on iTunes). Rumors are that Orgy will be getting back together later this year (even though they never officially broke up), so it's excellent news to me, but after hearing this album, I'm in no hurry for it to happen. I highly recommend the tracks "Someday Soon", "Nvr Say Nvr" ("Never Say Never", a cover of the 1982 Romeo Void classic), "Systeme De Sexe", and "Look At U".

Last, but certainly not least, this Friday I'll be hitting up (and reviewing for TWRY.com) the Music As A Weapon 4 Tour with a friend of mine... which is more like a large-scale festival this year with tattoo artists, extreme sports, video games, and two stages of bands. The bands on the main stage are Chimaira, Lacuna Coil, Killswitch Engage, and Disturbed. I love Lacuna Coil and Disturbed, but have never seen Chimaira or Killswitch Engage live. From what I've been reading, they're awesome live, so I can't wait until Friday. On the second stage will be Suicide Silence, Spineshank, Bury Your Dead, Crooked X, Born Of Osiris, and After The Burial. I haven't seen any of them live before, but I've been listening to their tunes on Myspace. I really find a lot of great music by getting to shows for the opening bands, and I think this festival will be no different.

Best of all, I get in for free thanks to Queen Mary and TheyWillRockYou.com... all I have to do is review the show, so I'll be pacing myself on alcoholic beverages (wink wink). Click the banner below to check it out, and if you're going to the show, hit me up on Facebook or Twitter or something.
